  • Contest venue: Rose Garden Arena; approx. 3 miles from HQ hotel

    • Tickets can only be purchased at the Convention Office in the Oregon Convention Center, Room A105, Tu-Fri 9a - 6p, Sat. 9a - noon
    • No tickets will be on sale at the Rose Garden Arena at the door
    • A bulletin board is available for messages and ticket re-sales outside the Harmony Marketplace


  • What events are included in a convention registration?

    A full convention registration includes the five main contest sessions:
    • Wednesday afternoon quartet quarter finals session #1: 12:15 pm, Rose Garden Arena
    • Wednesday evening quartet quarter finals session #2: 7:15 pm, Rose Garden Arena
    • Friday evening quartet semi-finals: 7:15 pm, Rose Garden Arena
    • Saturday morning-afternoon chorus finals: 10:45 am, Rose Garden Arena
    • Saturday evening quartet finals: 7 pm, Rose Garden Arena

    Separate ticket purchases are required for the following events that fall during the convention week.

    • Tuesday evening, Harmony Foundation's "Celebrate Youth" Show: 8 pm, Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall (Tickets on sale March 1 through Ticketmaster)
    • Thursday afternoon, World Harmony Jamboree: 1:30 pm, Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall
    • Thursday evening, "United We Sing" AIC Show: 7 pm, Rose Garden Arena
    • Friday morning, College quartet contest finals: 10 am, Rose Garden Arena

    The exact schedule and how to purchase tickets for these events will be announced in the March-April 2002 issue of The Harmonizer. (This listing is addressing ticketed events only and is not meant to be a full schedule of events.)

    • Harmony in the Square, FREE! Pioneer Courthouse Square (near HQ hotel), Thursday, July 4, tentatively 12:30 - 3:30 pm, immediately followng the massed sing at Noon, featuring Society quartets, choruses, and local area community choruses, ensembles and other groups.


  • Transportation Around Town: details to be announced
    • Conventioneers are encouraged to use the MAX light rail for getting around town. MAX runs every six minutes in most areas of the convention and most convention hotels.
    • "MAX" light rail line runs by the Arena and the Oregon Convention Center (the Registration and Harmony Marketplace location)
    • The MAX line is within two blocks of the HQ hotel

      • The MAX cars are very wheelchair friendly, with low entrances that make for easy on-and-off wheelchair access.

  • Wheelchair lift vans: If you checked the "special accommodation" box on the registration form, the Society Events staff will contact you in advance to make those special arrangements. If you are not contacted within two weeks of the convention, contact the Society Events Office.
